Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement.

Specialized Experience Requirement

For the GS-06 : You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing one or more of the following :

  • Provide support and assistance processing a wide variety of requisitions;
  • Reconcile purchases and maintain files in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives;
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail;
  • Establish and maintain the unit's files, accountable property inventories, records, etc. (hardcopy and / or electronic format); and / or
  • Use automated software to produce reports, correspondence and other written documents in draft form.

One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business Administration).

Combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

For the GS-07 : You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing one or more of the following :

  • Carry out a variety of administrative and support processes to meet unit needs;
  • Receive and review all formal ingoing / outgoing correspondence for proper format, grammar, punctuation, etc.;
  • Use automated databases and software to produce reports and record information;
  • Establish and maintain manual and electronic records and filing systems; and / or
  • Produce written documentation, reports, memos, etc. in final format.

One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business Administration).

Work Experience : Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month and year the work assignment started and ended;
