APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Capac, MI looking to add a Production Scheduler to their already amazing team. As a Production/Material Scheduler, your primary responsibility will be using the in-house MRP system to track inventory, schedule suppliers and monitor process and workflow management. - Integrate MRP system with Smart Attend monitoring system and Excel spreadsheets to optimize production scheduling.
- Create feasible schedules aligning with customer demands, considering equipment, labor, and raw material availability.
- Continuously assess plant capacity, anticipate resource needs, and communicate outsourcing requirements to stakeholders.
- Analyze customer releases, anticipate potential issues, and communicate any impacts on due dates in advance.
- Effectively relay material requirements to purchasing and manufacturing teams based on customer demands.
- Ensure accuracy of MRP system data including forecasts, orders, and inventory levels.
- Analyze production activities, report schedule adherence, and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with departments to resolve issues affecting production timelines, such as equipment failures or material shortages.
- Adapt schedules as needed based on real-time resource availability or unexpected events.
- Address supplier and internal errors affecting shipment timelines and scheduling accuracy.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and plan cycle counting activities.
- Work with engineering to ensure accurate BOMs and update ERP systems accordingly.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via applicable portals.
- Plan job work requirements with subcontracting suppliers and ensure material availability meets customer demands.
- Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or a technical field
- 3 years’ experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Able to take calls during off-shift hours, if necessary, when urgent scheduling decisions are required
- Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis
- Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
- Understanding of IATF - 16949 requirements
