Job Title: Landscape Technician

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 p/h; based on experience

Location: Crystal River, FL

Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Operate light motorized equipment; operate small hand-powered equipment; perform routine manual labor as needed for resort ground maintenance. Grounds include hotel, villas, condos, clubhouse, halfway house, and entrance signs.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, members, and fellow coworkers.
• Ensure, at all times, resort standards and regulations are being followed to encourage safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain and review daily activity log.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents.
• Routinely check safety hazards.
• Operate mowers and string trimmers in trimming around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges walkways and landscape beds.
• Ability to tend to weeds; mulches; prunes; and removes debris to maintain landscape beds.
• Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the mechanic immediately.
• Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
• Ability to regularly perform preventative maintenance. A significant portion of the day is spent ensuring all equipment is properly functioning.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties may be assigned as business demands.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays is required. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
• General knowledge of the safe mechanical operation of trucks and other motorized equipment, preferred.
• General knowledge of maintenance tools, hand and power tools, preferred.
• General knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work, preferred.
• At least one year experience in grounds and/or lawn maintenance required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral, are required.
• Must be able to multi-task, strong organization skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work independently or as a team.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to complete repetitive motions throughout the day such as pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, etc.
• Must be able to walk and stand throughout shifts.
• Must be able to climb and descend ladders and run, throughout shift.
• Exposure to various types of Florida weather conditions including: sunshine, heat, and rain.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry, etc. up to 100lbs.
