Job Title: Banquet Server/Setup

Pay: $8.98/hr tips for Serving, $12/hr for Set Up 

Location: Crystal River, FL

Reports to: Food & Beverage Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Completes physical set-up and/or breakdown of banquet/catering function rooms. Provides prompt and courteous food and beverage service to banquet guests during banquet/catering functions ensuring guests’ satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

• Sets up and/or breaks down tables, chairs, audio/visual equipment, and platforms/stages according to banquet event order.
• Ability to keep open and effective communication with staff, other departments, clients, and leaders
• Ensure rooms are set up and broken down safely and efficiently
• Create an exceptional dining experience by providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Meet and greet the guests as they arrive for their function.
• Answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
• Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
• Responsible for the proper set-up and breakdown of meal functions.
• Attend daily stand-up meeting to effectively ensure proper product knowledge.
• Be able to read and follow a banquet event order (BEO) accurately.
• Assist others with side-work to include, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
• Ensure tables and serving stations are cleared and cleaned in a timely manner
• Attend pre-function meetings to ensure efficiency of the event and maintain up-to-date knowledge
• Cleans, stores and secures in an organized manner all tables, chairs and audio-visual equipment, platforms/stages and other equipment used for banquet functions.
• Maintains cleanliness of banquet rooms, banquet hallways, storage and service areas, etc.
• May refresh rooms at break; clean ashtrays, remove dirty cups/glasses, cleans trash cans, replenishes water pitchers, replaces tablecloths, etc.
• Clears room at end of banquet of all props and centerpieces and properly returns to storage.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Complete any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Position requires flexibility in scheduling including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
• Banquet and or food & beverage server/bartender experience of at least 1 year is required. Hospitality experience is a plus.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must have or be able to obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment
• Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work in a fast past environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to complete repetitive motions throughout shift such as reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Ability to lift, push, and at least 50lbs.
