Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to drive revenue growth, build and nurture client relationships, and expand our market presence. As the Director of Sales, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with key retail partners to drive business growth and visibility. This is a strategic and hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of the industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the VP of Sales
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets within the natural, private label food sector.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and penetrating new markets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment of strategies, timely product launches, and effective inventory management.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify potential areas for growth and adapt the sales strategy accordingly.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets, tracking performance metrics to ensure achievement of sales goals and profitability targets.
  • Generate regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting sales performance, market insights, and recommendations for strategic adjustments.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the company and network with potential clients and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • 6 years minimum of proven experience in sales leadership within the food CPG industry, with a strong understanding of private label products.
  • Experience dealing with North American national retail chains and launching several items with key retailers. Specific experience with national, natural food retailers and specialized private label retailers is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing successful sales teams or brokers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and credibility with clients and internal teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, generate insights, and make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and sales performance metrics.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events. Experience participating in PLMA and Expo West are a plus.
