Principals serve as the instructional and operational leader of the school. Principals provide a clear vision for learning for all students; ensure a safe, secure and orderly learning environment; and cultivate strong relationships with and acts in service to diverse stakeholders, including families and communities. Principals are expected to promote high-quality instructional practices, passionately enjoy working with children, and believe that all students can achieve. Principals are responsible for selecting and assigning staff, supporting differentiated professional growth and building the leadership capacity of staff. Principals must collect, analyze and use multiple sources of data to guide continuous improvement in student achievement, manage school operations, and effectively evaluate and develop staff.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or Curriculum & Instruction (preferred)
5 years of teaching experience
Valid State of Arizona IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
Commitment to the learning success and achievement of all students
Experience successfully leading and managing adults and teams
Passion for reaching and supporting non-traditional students
Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), and has experience in Early Literacy Development
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
