ATW Companies is Hiring a 2nd Shift Quality Inspector Near Boyertown, PA

About UsJudson Smith is based just outside Boyertown, PA and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies and a leading manufacturer of metal tubular parts and machined components to custom specifications for the medical device, aerospace and automotive industries. Capabilities include Swiss Screw machine parts, laser cutting and welding, tube fabrication, CNC milling / turning, wire EDM and more.
Position SummaryThe Quality Inspector’s primary responsibility is performing quality tests and inspections of products at various stages of production process, compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine quality of products.
HoursMonday - Friday - 3:00pm - 11:10pm
Ideal ExperienceExperience will include quality inspection, blueprint reading, CMM operation, performing calibrations on measuring tools, and familiarity of tubing and machining processes.
Essental Responsibilites
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility and safety and wellness of all team members.
  • Responsible to ensure process adherence to all applicable quality procedures to assure quality product with priority for patient safety.
  • Communicate regularly in a respectful and collaborative fashion with members of the team to support promote teamwork and maintain high level of morale.
  • Understand the Quality Policy and have a working knowledge of the Quality Management System in terms of job function and interaction with process owners.
  • Understand the general requirements of ISO9001:2008/2015, AS9100, and FDA requirements for medical devices as they relate to Judson A. Smith Company.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics drawings, or formulas, and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Conduct quality testing on material, parts, or products at specified stages in the production process, assessing dimensions, performance, and material characteristics through destructive and nondestructive methods.
  • Responsible for operating calibrated vision-based measuring instruments, tools, and validated systems.
  • Documents test results using statistical quality control techniques, analyzing data and generating reports to confirm compliance or identify deviations from existing standards.
  • Support on-time deliverables for production shipping schedule using production schedule and/or priority list provided by production manager, production scheduler, or shipping.
  • Understand production procedures, pinpointing quality concerns and investigating root causes. Recommend adjustments to quality or production standards to optimize quality within equipment limitations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience with Quality inspections.
  • Preferred experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to the fourth place.
Reading SkillsAbility to read, write and comprehend materials in English.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply 'common sense' understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
