What You’ll Do

 As the Prevention Specialist, you will provide substance abuse education and early intervention services to youths and their families in the communities to prevent or delay use of substances. This position spends time with the local communities to provide education on laws surrounding the sale of tobacco and substances to minors as well as attending community events to educate our neighbors on safe, social ways to have fun and enjoy life without the use of substances-increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors for youths. This position will service Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties. 

How You’ll Benefit 

You’ll earn a competitive salary between $44,000 and $46,000 annually depending on your skills and experience.This full-time position offers a primaryschedule Monday-Friday from 8 am-5 pm, 40 hours/week.   1. Must register with the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board within 120 days to pursue Certified Prevention Specialist credential

What We’re Looking For

To join our team as the Prevention Specialist you must have experience working with youths and providing services in various community locations, be able to connect families to other agencies for services, the ability to build a report with a diverse population and able to say that documentation is one of your super powers. The service area for this position is Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties. We also require: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Human Services
• Community advocacy experience preferred-internships included
• Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance
