Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our construction company's finance team. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial management, reporting, and analysis. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the financial health and growth of our organization. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and construction industry-specific knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping:Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, payroll records, and expense reports.
  • Financial Reporting:Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide insights on budget variance analysis.
  • Cost Management: Monitor project costs, analyze cost variances, and identify cost- saving opportunities. Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and timely reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis on construction projects, including profitability analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and return on investment calculations. Provide recommendations based on financial insights to optimize project performance.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Prepare sales tax reports. Coordinate with external tax consultants as necessary.
  • Audit Support: Assist in coordinating internal and external audits. Prepare audit schedules, gather supporting documentation, and address audit inquiries to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity. Identify opportunities for automation and implement best practices.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Stay up to date with accounting standards, financial regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements. Ensure adherence to relevant accounting principles (GAAP) and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax
  • regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Solid understanding of project cost accounting and cost control methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external parties.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
