PALM BEACH COUNTY is Hiring a Victim advocate Near Beach, FL
Provides crisis intervention, supportive counseling and advocacy for victims of cases involving sexual assault, domestic violence or other violent crimes.
Provides court accompaniment; liaises with the State Attorney's Office, law enforcement and social service agencies. Provides public awareness and training on victimization, victims' rights / related.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a team supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports and effectiveness of work results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Equivalencies :
1. Related Master's Degree AND six (6) months of related experience
2. Unrelated Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience OR one (1) year internship at a victim services agency
3. Related Associate's Degree and three (3) years of related experience
4. Unrelated Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience
5. Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and five (5) years of related experience.
Necessary Special Requirements : Must complete Office of Attorney General (OAG) Victim Practitioner Certification and Florida Council Against Sexual Violence (FCASV) Rape Crisis Certification within 11 months of hire and maintain certifications as a condition of employment.
PREFERENCE FOR : Two (2) years of experience in advocacy work for sexual assault / domestic violence / homicide crime victims;
experience with 24-hour crisis response; bilingual (English / Spanish / Creole).
