Job Description
What You’ll Do
Job Responsibilities :
- Receive and count stock items and record data manually or using computer
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the parts room
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the parts room
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment
- Determine proper storage methods, identification and parts locations
- Return of damaged or defective items to the vendors
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures and goods used or issued
- Issue or distribute parts and supplies to coworkers based on information from incoming work orders
- Disposal of excess, defective or obsolete stock
- Answer telephone dealing directly with customers and vendors
- Schedule regular and maintenance service with customers
- Complies with all Safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Requirements :
- Minimum 3 years of parts inventory control in a diesel shop or automotive shop
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently, developing people skills, organizational skills
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred
