Title: Human Resource Generalist

Location: Athens

Salary: $65,000

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The position of human resources generalist consists of planning, directing, and coordinating, human resource activities of an organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources, and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (but, not limited to)

  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
  • Advise executives on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel, training, or labor relations activities of an organization.
  • Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Assist in travel arrangements, airfare, hotels, car rentals, etc.
  • Assist supporters and their families with housing, cars, health, school, Etc
  • Conduct sexual harassment and safety classes annually.
  • Conduct Bi-Weekly team meetings with team members and manager.
  • Set target goals within the department.
  • Coach and assist the team to work on processes and procedures.
  • Complete monthly newsletter.
  • Celebrate birthdays, special occasions of team members, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous HR experience
  • Excellent Excel Skills (able to use all different formula to analyze massive amounts of data)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Will be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.
  • May be required to work beyond normal business hours including weekends and holidays, or to travel for business when necessary
