Absolute Manufacturing is Hiring a Quality Receiving Inspector Near Arlington, WA

The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the Quality Department in managing processes and activities in support of customer and industry requirements. The Quality Assurance Specialist may perform the following duties:

Job Summary: Inspects incoming hardware, raw materials and precision machined products, outside processes, and other components for conformance to customer specifications. This includes first part, in-process and final inspection by performing some of the the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge of blueprints, capability to interpret blueprints/drawings and engineering along with a good understanding of GD&T symbols, threads and finish requirements.
  • Fully capable of inspecting products using gauge pins, calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparator or Scope, thread gages and visual examination prior to shipment.
  • Knowledge of, with experience in, measuring, gauging, and inspection equipment & techniques, capable of measuring a part complete to the print. Must be able to calculate dimensions from print to inspect parts that are not complete or do not have complete datum structure in place.
  • Capable of comparing assembled products to drawing, parts list or other defined criteria to ensure completion of final assembly.
  • Good understanding and experience with First Article Inspection per AS9102
  • Reconcile and gather documentation during final inspection for shipment.
  • Verify hardware, raw materials, outside processes, and other components certifications for conformance to customer specifications or other defined criteria.
  • Examine material or product for surface defects, damage or unusual visual conditions.
  • Performs inspection at specified stages in the production process for visual, dimensional and mechanical characteristics/features.
  • Ability to read and understand company procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to write non-conformance tags for discrepant parts using clear (S/B: and IS:) criteria, specifically documenting the discrepancy.
  • Continuous learning to keep up with new developments.
  • Assist other inspectors as needed
  • Other tasks as requested.

Requirements:

  • Great attention to detail!
  • Excellent math skills required.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • At least 1-3 (recent) years of experience in assembly, machining and/or mechanical inspection with focus in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Be able to read and understand engineering drawings and industry specifications.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment (e.g. calipers, micrometers, height & bore gauges, etc.)
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to interact with internal personnel and customers.

Preferred (additional) Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 (recent) years of experience in assembly, machining and/or mechanical inspection with focus in an aerospace manufacturing environment..
  • Must be able to fluently read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings. Must be able to follow, review, and assist in developing inspection plans.
  • Good working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Knowledge, proper use and application of measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height/bore gauges, indicators, etc.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Lean process understanding

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in aerospace (knowledge of AS9100 Preferred)
  • 1-3 recent years’ experience in mechanical inspection or machining.
  • High School Diploma/GED, or proven work history in a manufacturing position

Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Excel
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes
  • Knowledge of machine processes
  • ERP/MRP (Epicor) Software knowledge desirable

Licenses or Certifications:

Certified Quality Inspector preferred
