Our client is seeking an interim Assistant Controller for a 2 month engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for month-end close responsibilities and ensuring a high level of performance for the receivables, payables, and general accounting processes. This position offers a contract employment opportunity and requires 4 days/week onsite in American Canyon. Expected pay is $60-$65/hr.Responsibilities:• Manage an accurate and timely monthly accounting close, which includes maintaining the close schedule, preparing journal entries, preparing reconciliations, reviewing results, and preparing financial reports.• Oversee the Accounts Payable team to ensure that supplier payments are authorized, accurate, and timely. This includes managing the employee reimbursement process and corporate card programs.• Lead the Accounts Receivables staff to ensure that customer invoices are issued accurately and collected promptly. This includes coordinating with the Customer Service and IT teams to manage the EDI processes with customers.• Supervise the Payroll Manager, including the reconciliation and reasonableness of payroll-related accounts, and reviewing payroll prior to submittal to third-party payroll processor.• Maintain a strong system of internal controls over the accounting operations to mitigate financial risks. This includes developing and maintaining policies and standard operating procedures.• Coach and develop the accounting operations team to achieve performance targets and goals by establishing goals, monitoring performance, and providing regular feedback and training.• Improve processes to achieve targeted efficiency and effectiveness, which includes reviewing, evaluating, and improving procedures and systems.• Coordinate with the finance teams on budgeting, analysis of financial results, and providing insightful ad-hoc reporting that drives action and positive results.• Collaborate with outside accountants and government agencies on statutory reporting matters.
