Cost Management Inc (CMI) is Hiring a Document Control Technician Near Altamonte Springs, FL

Job DescriptionSummary The on-site Document Control Technician is responsible for maintaining organized and updated Design and Construction contract-related project documents and specifications for the Project. Important duties include using document management software to upload or scan paper documents, retrieving documents for authorized personnel and ensuring document storage to comply with agency specifications and regulations.
  • The Technician shall collect, prepare, manage and file documents for our project.
  • Responsibilities include maintaining record contracts and exhibits, archiving files and ensuring all team members have access to necessary design and construction documentation.
  • Ultimately, the Technician will support the project expansion procedures by maintaining transparent, up-to-date, and easily traceable documents to help project managers coordinate work efforts of the trade contractors.
  • Assist Project Managers by providing support of our procedures by maintaining transparent, up-to-date and easily traceable documents to be used in construction trade coordination efforts.
Education / Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a construction related field.
  • Familiarity with the commercial construction industry and project management
Special Skills
  • Previous experience reviewing technical documents and the ability to spot errors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, ask questions and communicate clearly and effectively, including spoken, written and visual communications.
  • Proficient typing, editing skills and data organization skills.
  • Ability to listen, understand and find answers to help solve related problems.
Responsibilities:
  • Copy, scan, distribute and store project-related design and construction project documents to support the project management team.
  • Assist and check for accuracy of trade coordination among files.
  • Review and update technical documents (e.g., manuals and workflows) that are available on site.
  • Distribute project-related copies to internal teams.
  • File documents in compliance with the Owner’s Project Procedures Manual.
  • Create weekly Project Manager Dashboard Reports to define critical issues and pending decisions.
  • Retrieve files as requested by employees and stakeholders.
  • Manage the flow of documentation within the organization: Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement Requirements. Proven work experience as a Document Manager, Office Engineer, Document Control or similar role.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Comfortable working with a variety of people including clients, project managers, architects/engineers, contractors and vendors.
Work Availability:
  • Full-time on-site.
