Job Summary:
Manage and coordinate activities of the Engineering Department including design, testing, creating innovative solutions, and problem solving. This position will be responsible for managing a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineers. It will include assigning tasks/projects, monitoring performance, hiring and training, SOP, design standards, and managing engineering budget.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure engineering is carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way
· Create and maintain SOP
· Create and maintain design standards
· Work with Project Managers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met
· Generate KPIs to measure and report on the success of the team.
· Recruit, train and supervise staff
· Support Sales, Applications, Service, and Production staff as necessary
· R&D to improve and reduce cost on current product lines and create new products
· Ability to work in fast paced multi project environment
Qualifications:
· BS in Engineering
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
· Excellent communication skills
· Outstanding organisational skills
· Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum of 3 years of previous engineering management experience
· Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
· Minimum of 5 years use and knowledge of CAD software; Solid Works preferred
· Ability to conceptualize in 3D, applying critical and creative thinking skills in order to produce effective design solutions to meet project requirements.
