Job Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible directing, planning, coordinating, and administering the medical record program of the facility. Responsible for managing department operations, managing the function of utilization review as required. Work is performed in accordance with the facility rules and regulations, Department of Health and Hospitals statutes for privileged information. This position interacts with administration, physicians, and other department personnel, particularly the nursing service and accounting services office, third party payers, and state surveyors, and functions as Director of Health Information Management for the purpose of HIPAA compliance. The job ensures that the Medical Records is presented as a responsive, service-oriented mechanism and it insures an effective flow of information, timely responses to inquiries. Utilizes approved techniques for management of aggressive client behavior to insure the safety of clients and staff. Fulfills position duties using value-based principles in relationships with clients/co-workers/others and practices stewardship of resources in order to strengthen Westside's caring mission.
