Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team. The Coding Specialist will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records for billing and reimbursement purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of medical coding systems, medical terminology, and medical office procedures. Duties: - Review and analyze medical records to identify diagnoses, procedures, and services provided - Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems - Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations - Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies - Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations - Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and attend training sessions as required - Assist with medical record audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance - Communicate with insurance companies regarding coding-related inquiries or issues Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical coding preferred - Proven experience as a Coding Specialist or similar role in a healthcare setting - Proficient in medical coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology - Familiarity with medical office procedures and electronic health record (EHR) systems - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Benefits: - Competitive salary based on experience - Health insurance coverage - Retirement plan options - Paid time off If you meet the requirements for this position and are interested in joining our team as a Coding Specialist, please submit your resume for consideration.
