As the Director of Development, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:

  • Design and implement a multi-year comprehensive development plan, as well as annual work plans that include goals, objectives, timetables, budget requirements & metrics for evaluation that include the following areas of activity:
    • a major gift program that focuses on identification, cultivation and solicitation of individual and corporate donors
    • an effective annual giving program
    • on-line giving strategies
    • special event fundraising
    • etc.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Chief Executive Officer to assist with their responsibilities to engage, solicit, and provide stewardship to key major donors as well as to the broad community of the Diocese of Albany

  • In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications, amplify the message to stakeholders through the use of storytelling and the effective use of data and statistics to engage and inspire stakeholders to take action in support of the mission of Catholic Charities through financial support.

  • Work collaboratively with the Diocesan Development and Stewardship Office to create a diocesan program to increase Catholic philanthropy

  • Establish, drive and oversee achievement of organizational fundraising goals.

    •  Lead the Development team to identify, cultivate and steward strategic relationships with a diverse array of funders to meet or exceed a $2M annual revenue plan.

    • In partnership with the executive team, determine appropriate fundraising targets for private philanthropy and public agencies, in accordance with the strategic plan.

    • Oversee plan and timing for a capital campaign to support the organization’s strategic plan.

    • Set clear, achievable team goals and ensure staff have resources, access, and professional development opportunities to perform at high levels.

    • Engage organizational and agency level board members in the development of the plan for meeting fundraising goals and leveraging the time, talent, and generosity of board members.

    • Personally oversee a portfolio of key individual and institutional supporters.

    • Represent Catholic Charities at local and regional events.

Director of DevelopmentMinimum Salary: $72,000

Director of Development Maximum Salary: 82,000

Director of DevelopmentSchedule: Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
