Overview

The mixer position arrives several hours before other production employees to gather, load, mix, and cook the batched ingredients for the products to be packaged that day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Food manufacturing experience preferred
• Rubber compounding experience is a plus
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Understanding of Critical Control Points (CCPs)
• Basic Machine and Hand Tool Operation Sanitation
• Operation of PIT and Crane
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Frequent work in a hot and humid production environment. Occasional work required outside in various temperatures. This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.

Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 6 hours a day. Ability to occasionally lift or carry 50 pounds. Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling. Able to access all areas of the plant including areas above equipment. Ability to operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other powered equipment and tools. Must be able to wear all PPE that is required

Responsibilities

• Gathering, loading, mixing, and cooking batches for production
• Understanding and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Adhere to all safety standards and procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Using PIT and Crane to gather or create materials for mixing
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and thoroughly per procedures
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Sanitation of equipment and operation of sanitation equipment
• Other duties as assigned
