Responsibilities

Ajinomoto is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, safety conscience Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician. Our E/I Maintenance Technicians have a critical responsibility of repairing, adjusting and calibrating our chemical processing equipment, instruments, piping, wiring, structures, and environmental systems required to produce purified amino acids. This position works day shift with rotating on call responsibilities.

This role is Monday-Friday day shift with rotating on call for evening and weekends.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, repair, adjust and calibrate all plant equipment, instruments, piping, electrical, structures, and environmental systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMPs and written instructions
  • Troubleshoot and repair motor starters, variable speed drives, and control systems
  • Safely and accurately use electrical measurement and test equipment
  • Utilize analytical equipment such as instruments, gauges, meters, etc. to make decisions on equipment needs
  • Review technical documentation to assist in troubleshooting and correcting equipment defects
  • Properly and accurately record maintenance activities in accordance with cGMP requirements using work orders, computer systems and departmental logbooks, where appropriate
  • Review and monitor all unusual equipment conditions to include but not limited to appearance, sound, vibration, and odors
  • Read and review process and equipment characteristics to troubleshoot problems, make corrections and return equipment to optimal condition
  • Periodically review SOPs to keep abreast of updates or revisions to processes
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area by ensuring work areas are returned back to working condition upon completion of assigned tasks
  • Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure product safety and minimize environmental impact
