R&D Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the R&D department with vision and direction fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.
- Collaborate with the management team on product line development, offering insights and strategies for growth.
- Supervise the Design Control procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines while also facilitating updates and enhancements to the process.
- Forecast and budget for future product development needs, including personnel, tools, and resources.
- Safeguard and manage intellectual property assets in alignment with company directives.
- Oversee thorough documentation, verification, and validation of all designs through meticulous testing, analysis, and review processes.
- Ensure that projects are delivered within specified timelines and financial constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (mechanical and electronic engineering background preferred); Master’s or PhD preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years in R&D roles, with 3-5 years in leadership positions (experience working in regulated industries such as Medical Device, Pharma, or Aerospace is preferred)
- “Hands-on” leadership experience with proven ability to coach, develop, and inspire high-performing R&D teams.
- Track record of effectively driving multiple projects from concept to launch.
- Proficiency in collaborating with diverse cross-functional teams and peers, both locally and internationally.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and company requirements, ensuring all R&D processes and documentation adhere to compliance guidelines. Background in mechanical and electronic engineering preferred.
- Awareness regarding current trends and developments within the medical device industry.
- $120,000 to $145,000 base with annual bonuses
