Position Summary:
- Our client is recruiting for a Payroll Clerk to join our team in St. Paul, MN.
- You will be responsible for entering and validating payroll information, creating and maintaining payroll files and time record batches, researching and resolving time card questions, and participating in special projects.
- Prepares the monthly payroll, conducting the necessary processes for payment of the various components of salary, such as vacation pay, overtime, etc.
- It is also responsible for the payment of legal charges and statutory withholdings, such as employee guarantee funds, social security, income tax, labor dues, etc.
- Makes the calculations of payments related to dismissals.
- Provide customer service by helping employees and managers with questions via email and phone
- Create new hire folders
- File paperwork into employee files
- Distribute checks and reports to divisional contacts
- Work with HR Representatives to resolve employee issues
- Participate in special projects
- Research and resolve employee-related questions/issues
- Comply with company policies as well as state/ federal, DOL & SOX regulations
- 1 year of general business experience in customer service, call center, and/or in a help desk environment
- Beginning level proficiency with Excel (perform basic formulas)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field discipline
