Systems is Hiring a Desktop Support Near State College, PA

Classroom Equipment Technician

  • Set up, operate, and secure audio visual and technology classroom equipment such as computers, motion picture projectors, slide projectors, video projectors, various computer projecting devices, overhead projectors, tape players and recorders, phonographs, portable and built-in amplifying systems, wired and wireless microphone and sound systems, mixers, videocassette and disc players, video receivers, video cameras and recorders, audio/video data switching devices, podium controls, lighting controls and student response systems, etc. Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Respond to requests for assistance regarding the operation of computers, audio visual and technology equipment in general-purpose classrooms supported by Information Technology Services either in-person or remotely. Schedule and conduct orientation sessions for faculty, staff, visitors, students and part-time employees (including student operators) in the correct operation of equipment. Troubleshoot and report operational problems in general-purpose technology classrooms such as authentication, understanding and responding to error messages, networking problems, etc. Report equipment malfunctions as appropriate. Confer as requested with users about additional classroom equipment and services needed and discuss with supervisor.
  • Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs to general-purpose classroom equipment. Use test equipment and instructional manuals as required. Record repair/service operations. Contact manufacturer regarding malfunctions as necessary.
  • Maintain working knowledge of software used in general-purpose classrooms.
  • Inventory equipment at assigned locations. Maintain inventory records. Maintain a supply of equipment, cables, lamps, batteries, accessories, etc., for general-purpose classrooms. Reorder parts and components to replenish inventory as necessary.
  • Maintain daily log of activities and forward to supervisor as directed. Gather routine information as requested by supervisor.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
