The Position:

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their waste disposal needs. CSRs interact with customers through voice calls and emails, assisting with new orders, order updates, addressing questions, and resolving issues with active orders while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor during interactions. Effective CSRs contribute to the company's overall efficiency through accurate order handling to reduce dispatch problems and accounting corrections. Additionally, CSRs handle customer inquiries, allowing sales representatives to focus on acquiring new business while ensuring existing work is managed meticulously, showing customers their choice is valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming phone calls from customers promptly and professionally, addressing their inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Review and respond to emails that originate from both customers and internal personnel, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Investigate and resolve customer job site issues, identifying the relevant department that needs to address and rectify the problem.
  • Collaborate with dispatch by contacting customers who have experienced service issues, including blocked units, locked job sites, or difficulties locating units for service.
  • Resolve with customers, dispatch, accounting, and sales (for non-house accounts) to determine whether a customer should be billed for a missing unit.
  • Offer quotes to new customers, evaluating whether a Sales Representative's assistance is needed for larger accounts.
  • Gather customer feedback and suggestions to relay to the appropriate departments for continuous improvement.
  • Enter all received orders into the Gainsborough Waste and Texas Outhouse systems accurately, maintaining data integrity.
  • Monitor order status and provide stakeholders with timely updates on orders, including delivery schedules and tracking information.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, including contact information, interactions, and order history.
  • Collaborate with fellow customer service representatives to share knowledge, address challenges, and ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Report recurring customer issues, trends, or patterns to management for further analysis and improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the company's products or services to effectively assist customers and offer relevant information.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Are you a fit?

  • High school diploma of General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Business Management or Hospitality preferred.
  • 1 years of experience in a customer service or a call center role preferred.
  • Ability to learn software systems.
