HYDROJET is Hiring a Quality Manager Near Reading, PA

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Quality Manager. The Quality Manager has primary responsibility for developing and implementing the quality management system, addressing customer satisfaction and quality concerns, overseeing formal process improvement activities and supervision of inspection activities and personnel.

The successful Quality Manager we are looking for will have:

Essential responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and improving the level of customer satisfaction by:
  • Ensuring that product delivered to the customer meets all contractual requirements.
  • Ensuring that processes used to manufacture product are designed, implemented and controlled to consistently meet requirements for form, fit and function, meet the customer’s required delivery schedule and create the best possible value to the customer.
  • Monitoring customer ratings and implementing action to improve them.
  • Continuously improving processes in order to lower costs, improve quality yields or reduce cycle time.
  • Developing, implementing, maintaining and improving a Quality Management System based upon the requirements of ISO-9001and AS9100.
  • Overseeing the planning, documentation and execution of product inspection operations and for assuring that inspection operations are conducted both thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Effectively implementing procedures for controlling non-conforming product and the use of Nonconformance Reports.
  • Participating in material review meetings, as necessary, to help determine the appropriate disposition of nonconforming products.
  • Effectively implementing procedures for controlling the accuracy of measuring and test equipment used in inspection operations.
  • Administering the corrective action process including:
  • Tracking of open Corrective and Preventative Action Requests.
  • Approving action plans prior to implementation where product quality or process integrity is a concern.
  • Overseeing all aspects of supplier management, where the supplier is providing goods or services incorporated into product Hydrojet supplies its customers, including:
  • Initial evaluation and approval of suppliers, including conducting site audits when required.
  • Coordinating source inspection activities when required.
  • Developing receipt inspection plans or instructions.
  • Monitoring supplier performance.
  • Issuing corrective action requests to poorly performing suppliers.
  • Collecting, maintaining and retaining the following records and documents:
  • Quality Management System procedures, forms and standards.
  • Quality Management System records, including audit reports, corrective action requests, approved documents and nonconformance reports.
  • Customer process specifications.
  • Quality plans (manufacturing and inspection) records.
  • Identifying human resource needs in the quality department and taking appropriate action to meet those needs, including:
  • Hiring personnel.
  • Determining job duties for production personnel as well as identifying the skills required to perform those duties.
  • Developing training programs to develop the skills required for production personnel.
  • Training internal auditors and inspectors to perform their job duties effectively and safely.
  • Implementing disciplinary action to correct deficiencies in performance as required.
  • Conducting informal and formal performance evaluations on production personnel.
  • Reviewing customer contracts when regulatory or customer specific quality system or special process requirements exist.
  • Scheduling and executing internal audits of Quality Management System processes.
  • Scheduling and participating in Management Review Meetings.
  • Reviewing improvement suggestions during Management Review Meetings to help determine if the improvement should be a project.
  • Approving Quality Plan documents defined collectively in the ERP prior to release to the shop floor.
  • Approving temporary changes to quality plan documents that affect the planned sequence of operation and verification, or engineering provided resources such as CNC programs, drawings and inspection plans.
  • Collecting the data associated with product quality and QMS effectiveness metrics, and for presenting those metrics to Hydrojet Management.
  • Assisting with the quoting process as required.
  • Maintaining access to customer and government portals as required.
  • Performing these, or any other tasks as directed by the Presidents, in accordance with Hydrojet Services Inc. Quality Policy, Safety Program Requirements and established Work Rules.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Manufacturing experience in a non-quality role such as Production or Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in a Quality role
  • Aerospace/Government/Defense manufacturing experience
  • NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) compliance manage experience
  • 3D solids-based CAD experience (SOLIDWORKS, Nx, Fusion 360, CATIA)
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and drawing reading
  • Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)/PFMEA (Production Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and Risk Analysis
  • Experience with application of statistical process control in a high mix, low volume environment
  • Experience with specification controlled special processes
  • Experience with supplier management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
