bROK Products is Hiring a Financial Controller Near Akron, OH

Summary:

The Controller will provide oversight, guidance, and coordination for bROK’s accounting department including general accounting, accounts payable, and fixed asset functions. This position will also be responsible for providing financial planning/management and disseminating financial reports, statements, and results. Works closely with upper management to identify areas to reduce costs and liabilities; performs audits. Supervises and supports the accounting team. Reviews financial statements to determine bROK’s financial health and takes action accordingly. Ensures compliance with financial regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Oversees and maintains daily accounting functions including payables, billings, cash management, and closing process.

· Forecasts cashflow; and works with management to prepare and monitor budgets, including income statements and fixed assets.

· Prepares financial documents such as monthly, quarterly and yearly business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business. Prepare quarterly tax payments and information for tax filings.

· General ledger and trial balance accountability for accounting principles of accuracy, matching, and materiality.

· Monitors financial reports and determines ways to reduce costs. Performs inventory variance analysis, inventory costing and write offs.

· Adjusts quickly and effectively to changing conditions and demands; recognizes opportunities, initiates actions to capitalize on them to make an impact.

· Manages risks with proper business insurance coverages and levels. Negotiates premiums with carriers.

· Oversees the credit and collections process.

· Creates and monitors internal financial controls.

· Works with the Human Resources Director to source cost effective employee benefit programs.

· Works with financial institutions to manage accounts, secure financing and leverages incentive programs.

· Performs data management and analysis. Assists management with important financial decisions.

· Supervises and supports the accounting team in preparing financial reports, budgets and cash applications. Manages the daily flow of the department.

· Designs and generates the monthly financial reporting package for ownership.

· Accounts for partnership equity and administers distributions to owners while ensuring company solvency.

· Ensures adherence to federal, state, local, income and payroll tax laws, reporting, compliance, and proper record retention.

· Participate in annual audits including preparing documentation and drafting reports.

· Advances department and company initiatives, including budget and forecast tools, process improvements and reporting enhancements.

· Keeps up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance and/or Business with minimum of five (5 ) years’ experience in similar role preferred. Hands-on experience in financial accounting tools (ERP systems, accounting software, etc.) Strong technical accounting, operational accounting and GAAP skillset. Excellent computer skills with MS Office/Excel are required. Strong numerical proficiency, organization, good problem-solving skills and excellent use of logic. Collaborative team player, self-motivated and directed and reliable. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, time-management, multitasking and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze financial results. Ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail with a track record of producing work that is highly accurate. Excellent leadership style with a spirit for fostering collaboration in a team environment is required. Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and customer service skills. This individual must exhibit sound judgment about when to take action and when to seek guidance. The successful candidate will be a morale builder, coach, mentor, and accountable team leader, model maturity, encourage collaboration and demonstrate respect for others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
