JOB The Transportation ADA/Civil Rights Data Collection Specialist gathers and collects and analyzes data in compliance with State and Federal civil rights law and standards. As the incumbent becomes acclimated with the position’s duties and responsibilities, she/he will have greater latitude in the execution of the position’s goals. This position is associated with understanding the purpose of an agency ADA Transition Plan and gathering infrastructure compliance data relative to the responsibilities of the Civil Rights Compliance Division. Incumbent will have some degree of latitude for independent judgement within defined parameters. Performs related duties as required. Pay Grade 12 EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Conducts post construction site inspections on state and federally funded highway construction projects to determine a contractor’s compliance with ADA accessibility standards.• Assess and collect data along existing state right of way to determine compliance with established ADA accessibility standards.• Survey and identify curb ramp, pedestrian push button and crosswalk attributes along the state highway system.• Manage and continue to develop the virtual curb ramp and barriers data set and update as data is gathered.• Collect visual data to update the existing virtual location data within the curb ramp and barriers data set.• Coordinate with District/Division personnel to establish data collection protocols and set data collection dates and times.• Statewide travel is required. Some overnight stay may be necessary.• Responsible for overseeing data collection and preparing daily reports.• Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license will be required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.Substitution: Experience, as described below, may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula. REQUIRED EXPERIENCEOne (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional or technical experience applying state and federal guidelines or related experience.Substitution: Successful completion of graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience through an established formula.
