Johnstone Supply - The Comunale Group is growing and has a brand new position, Senior Staff Accountant. The Senior Staff Accountant position is a member of the administration team and works in our corporate office located in Pleasantville, NJ. As Senior Staff Accountant, you will assist in preparing, compiling, and maintaining the financial data and records for multiple companies according to generally accepted accounting principles. As member of the accounting team, you will support the Controller with special projects and audits on an as needed basis and provide backup support to the accounts payable and accounts receivable representatives.

Some of the essential duties and responsibilities may include:

• Develop and post daily and monthly journal entries for multiple companies
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
• Maintain account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
• Ensure all subledgers are reconciled to reported general ledger account balances
• Support the budget and forecast processes
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements
• Analyze and reports on variances vs. budget
• Provide backup support to the accounts payable and accounts receivable roles
• Prepare monthly sales tax and gross receipts tax returns

To be successful in this role, the ideal person will have obtain the required education, skills, and/or experiences:

• Bachelor's degree in business, with a concentration in Accounting or Finance or Equivalent
• At least 3 years’ experience in accounting including similar responsibilities
• Experience working in an ERP system
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experienced multi-tasker, capable of strict attention to detail and adhering to deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This full time Senior Staff Accountant works Monday through Friday in the office with no required travel.
