Shopping Center Management d b a Turnberry... is Hiring a Construction Accounts Payable Near Aventura, FL

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Construction Accounts Payable is a staff position that is responsible for processing the project’s accounts payable and providing administrative support to Project Accounting. This position receives requests for payment, verifies supporting documentation, enters information into the accounting system, requests and disburses payments and performs other duties as required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives requests for payment including invoices and contractor pay applications (AIA), verifies documents, assigns General Ledger or Job Cost coding per Budget
  • Obtains new vendor W-9’s and sets vendor up in accounting system
  • Ensures signature authority rules are maintained on all requests for payment
  • Analyzes accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting principles
  • Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger
  • Analyzes and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments
  • Data entry and scanning of all requests for payment into accounting system
  • Records manual payments including ACH’s and Wire Transfers
  • Obtains and maintains required documentation including W-9’s, notices to owner, lien releases, certificates of insurance and other documents as required
  • Maintains electronic filing system for required documents and requests for payment
  • Reconciles vendor statements and ensures timely receipt of requests for payment


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounting or Accounts Payable
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or related discipline preferred
  • Construction Accounts Payable experience preferred
  • Yardi and Microsoft Office experience preferred
  • Strong math and communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills

  • Acute attention to detail
  • Intermediate MS Excel Skills
  • Highly motivated individual, comfortable working independently, able to perform under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing sills
  • High level of interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
