Job Description:

This position is responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring its continued success at VIP Rubber Company, Inc. The role involves performing receiving inspections for all incoming products or services, except raw materials; verifying first article inspections for all new custom items made to customer drawings or samples; and overseeing the calibration of all test equipment while maintaining accurate records. Additionally, this position involves spot-checking for quality on running parts, ensuring they meet acceptable tolerances. Responsibilities also include conducting Quality Assurance reviews of purchase orders, part drawings, and additional documentation for new parts ordered by both new and existing customers. The role also requires drawings to be created with CAD software.

Core Competencies (Skills):

Knowledge of CAD software with the ability to create drawings.

• Knowledge of Quality Management System principles, standards, procedures and audit criterion,

· Knowledge of company operations and production processes at VIP Rubber Company,

· Must be able to work independently with a minimum of direct supervision, and make independent decisions regarding duties required by the job,

· Must be able to use basic dimensional measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, mechanical and electronic indicators, gage blocks, etc.) to verify that completed work conforms to specifications,

· Must have knowledge of material and machine terminology used in the production environment,

· Must have a detail and quality mindset and maintain a professional attitude and standard at all times,

· Must be able to effectively communicate mechanical concepts with technical personnel of all levels in written and spoken English,

· Must be able to keep an organized and accurate filing system

Calibration of measurement devices:

● Must be capable of using a variety of measuring instruments to assure that required dimensional accuracies are achieved.

● If appropriate, arrange periodic inspections of measuring instrumentation to assure that the measurements are accurate,

● Document the dates of each calibration for each measuring device used in the inspection process.

Tasks:

Quality Control Inspections:

● Review paperwork and verify that incoming material, products, or services meets the specifications noted on the receiving documentation,

● Verify that first article inspection meets the criteria of the customer’s drawings or samples prior to packaging for delivery to customer and collaborate with production managers when criteria does not meet customer requirements

● Communicate any non-conformances to Director of Quality Assurance for review and follow-up of corrective and preventative action

● Perform periodic inspections of running parts in each department to ensure that the product meets required tolerance stipulations

● Verify the accuracy of the outgoing orders being shipped to customers, making sure the proper product is shipped and conforms with customer requirements by effectively inspecting finished product and notifying production of authorization to ship or said discrepancy within a 24-hour window from the time the order was received by Q.C.
