VIP Rubber Company Inc. Is looking for a long term Quality Assurance Inspector.

This position is responsible for adhering to the Quality Management System and any specifications required by the customer. The QA Inspector has the responsibility to perform inspection for all products or services; verify first article inspections for all new custom items made to customer’s drawings or samples; and participate in the calibration of all test equipment and maintain records of those calibrations. The QAI will spot-check all departments for quality on all parts; and verify findings against acceptable tolerances Also follow established guidelines and uses past experience and training in Aerospace/Commercial standards to carry out his/her responsibilities. The QAI interfaces with all levels within the Company.

Skills Recomended:

1. Knowledge of AS9100 & ISO 9001

2. Must have an intermediate level understanding of computer software and hardware

3. AS9102 First Articles Inspection Forms

4. Knowledge of CAD, POLYWORKS, FARO, HANDYSCANER preferred

5. Must be able to work independently with a minimum direct supervision, and make independent decisions regarding duties required by the job,

6. Must be able to use dimensional measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, mechanical and electronic indicators, gage blocks, etc.) to verify that completed work conforms to specifications,

7. Must have knowledge of material and machine terminology used in the production environment,

8. Must have a detail and quality mindset and maintain a professional attitude and standard at all times,

9. Must be able to effectively communicate mechanical concepts with technical personnel of all levels in written and spoken English

10. Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work environment

11. Must be able to read blueprints and have mathematical skills necessary to perform the job.

Tasks:

Inspections:

· Verify first article inspection meet criteria of customer drawings

· Collaborate with other quality, production and technical personnel in order to gain better insight into criteria needed to ensure product meet customer requirements.

· Perform periodic inspections of in process product in each department to ensure the product meets required tolerance, examine material or products surfaces for defects.

· Verify the accuracy of the outgoing orders being shipped to customers, making sure the proper product is shipped and conforms with customer requirements by effectively inspecting finished product and notifying production of authorization to ship or said discrepancy within a 48-hour window from the time the order was received by Q.C.

· Review paperwork and verify that incoming material, products, or services meets the specifications noted on the receiving document.

Calibration of measurement devices:

Must be capable of using a variety of measuring instruments to assure that required dimensional accuracies are achieved.

If appropriate, arrange or perform periodic inspections and calibrations of measuring instruments to assure that the equipment is accurate.

Document the dates of each calibration for each measuring device used in the inspection process.

File obsolete information as required by the ISO standard.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary; sit; use hand to finger, handle, feel; stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or position heavy materials up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from ground level to above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Corrected vision must be adequate to calibrate equipment, and to inspect parts, and drive a forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Training Requirements:

· General Safety.

· Quality System and Aerospace Specification Awareness.

Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations

Personal Protective Equipment:

· Safety Glasses (must be worn when needed)

· Ear Protection must be worn when dB is over 85 dB.

· Safety Shoes must be worn if issued

· Safety Gloves (must be worn when needed)

· Back support belts (must be worn when needed)

Work Environment:

· Work performed in a shop environment.

· Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

· Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Industrial lighting provided.

· Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
