Warehouse Maintenance
About the Position
The Warehouse Maintenance person supports the Service Manager in the repair and upkeep of parts, tools, equipment, and trucks, while maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry standards, materials, tools, processes, and safety procedures.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, clean, degrease and repair equipment, parts, tools, and trucks. Complete testing to confirm quality of repairs and maintenance.
- Perform minor and preventative maintenance such as checking fluids, lubricating fittings, cleaning or replacing filters.
- Operate a forklift and other construction equipment and power tools.
- Perform jobsite repairs.
- Assist with repairs and upkeep of facility structures and buildings.
- Perform light metal fabrication work.
- Work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment that can be hot, dirty, noisy, oily, greasy, etc. Must use required PPE.
- Work independently with minimum supervision and guidance.
- Must attend training and meetings as required and work extended hours as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License required; Class A CDL preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification, or ability to obtain.
- Welding Certificate preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
General understanding of construction materials; General knowledge of safety in warehouse environment; Ability to work with hands and fingers (including handling, holding, grasping, turning, picking, and pinching) to operate equipment and tools; Ability to operate a forklift; Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including but not limited to 10-50 pounds frequently; Ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally; Ability to multi-task; Ability to work safely and efficiently; Ability to maintain friendly, cooperative relations with company personnel and management; and the following Poettker Construction competencies: Safety First, Quality Work, Honesty and Integrity, Trustworthy Relationships, Family Oriented, Effective Partnerships, and Fiscal Responsibility.
