Assist Program Director and Program Coordinators in Teaching, supporting, and planning activities for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a center program as well as a variety of settings in the community. This would include supporting members in groups for creative arts, exercise and wellness, cooking and nutrition, and structured group leisure. Additional assistance with social skill groups, coaching/mentoring, involvement in community opportunities to learn and practice skills in natural settings. This is a part time hourly position that
requires evening work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the Program Director and Program Coordinators with instruction and assistance to individuals receiving services within the program and community to support them in achieving targeted goals. Goals include development or enhancement of communication skills, social interaction skills, positive behavior management, self-care and self-direction, and independence.
Communicates effectively with individuals served, their families, supervisors, and regional staff to ensure that all information pertinent to provision of services is shared with all team members
Participates in team planning meetings as needed to provide feedback, and recommendations for the development or revision of goals and strategies based upon experience delivering services to individuals
Completes all required electronic documentation of services through electronic health records system within 24 hours of service provision when asked
Safeguards all confidential information pertaining to the individuals receiving services
Adheres to submission deadlines for all services and job related documentation
Completes online and classroom based trainings as required, adhering to all deadlines for registration, completion and renewal.
Collaborates with supervisors and administrative staff regarding all matters related to assigned individual(s) receiving services as requested
Contributes to the mission of the Autism Society of NC by providing support and promoting opportunities which enhance the lives of individuals within Autism Spectrum and their families
Ensures services are provided with a commitment to CQL’s basic assurances of health and safety and work to meet the personal outcomes of individuals we support.
Performs all other duties necessary for the operation of community-based programming as requested by supervisors.
Must possess a valid NC Driver’s license, a safe driving record and an acceptable level of automobile liability insurance. If driver’s license is from outside North Carolina, must obtain a NC license within 60 days of establishing permanent residence.
Must have a criminal background check which reveals no health and safety risk to service participants
Must have access to internet and a PC, tablet, or phone with internet platform in order to perform essential functions of this position.
Education Requirements
High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
