Valley Health Associates is Hiring a Director of Finance Near Salinas, CA

Job Title: Director of Finance

Reports to: Executive Director

Schedule: This is a Exempt, full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week or more as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.

Basic Functions:

The Director of Finance assists the Executive Director in the daily operations of Valley Health Associates business dealings, and financial tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position. An employee in this classification is responsible for carrying out the following functions:

Oversight of all financial activities to include but not limited to...

· Maintain the accounting records in accordance with accepted accounting principles

· Prepares monthly bank reconciliations of the general ledger

· Manages and oversees the fixed asset accounts

· Prepares and posts journal entry’s

· Receives and processes all account receivables in a timely manner (Checks, Cash, Donations, and Grants, and prepares deposit slip.

· Receives and processes all accounts payable in a timely manner. Prepares checks and proper allocations in the accounting system.

· Prepares monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors

· Assists Executive Director in preparation of annual operating budget

· Manages and oversees all Vendor/Customer files according to fiscal year.

· Compile sales reports and distribute them to relevant departments.

· Attends to any correspondence and emails by customers, clients and contractors.

· Tracks cover all organizational cash flow.

· Conducts grant tracking and allocates finances according to QuickBooks/MIP account allocation.

· Completes payroll and maintain quarterly reports via ADP total source

· Lead in all Financial Audits (State, County, Medi-cal, and Fiscal Year Audits)

· Provides financial planning as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions.

· Completes other duties as assigned and in accordance with Executive Director.

Expectations:

· Alerts Executive Director to potential crises or urgent situations and/or incidents

· Remains in compliance with internal and external policies and procedures including updating and monitoring the VHA Accounting Procedures.

· Attends all required trainings and administrative meetings.

· Upholds the Organization and Program Code of Ethics.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Executive Director.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Business Administrations and/or Accounting required, Master’s preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.

· A valid California Class "C" Driver's License is required at time of hire.

· Strong interpersonal and engagement skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to support VHA’s mission and philosophy, and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity and workplace harmony.

· Dependent upon assignment, applicants may be required to pass an extensive background investigation and be fingerprinted. Disqualification for felony, misdemeanor, and traffic offenses will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional business environment.

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong business acumen.

· High attention to detail.

· Proficient in technology especially Microsoft Office and accounting software

· Proactive qualities with the willingness to learn.

· Ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.

· Must be able to work long hours seated and in front of a computer.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by
an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $75,400.00 - $82,392.00 per year
