Title : Email Marketing & Website Associate

D ivision : Marketing & Communications

Reports to : Director of Marketing Content Strategy

Position Status : Part-time; Non-Exempt; In-person

Pay rate : $18.00 / hour

Position summary :

The Email Marketing & Website Associate's primary responsibilities are developing the marketing email communications for the Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC) and managing the VirginiaHistory.

org website. For email communications, this includes email creation and delivery, segmentation management, A / B testing, campaign funnel development, and analytics reporting.

For the website, this entails site edits and updates as needed and regular site audits to continually improve user experience.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Email Marketing (Primary responsibilities) :

  • Manages segmentation and list builds for targeted audiences through museum's CRM system
  • Produces campaign analytics reporting for full audience and targeted segments, translating findings into recommendations for improved campaign design and reach
  • Creates new campaign funnels and reengagement strategies by user type
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates results of A / B tests
  • Conducts regular email communications audit and makes recommendations to enhance engagement

Website Management (Secondary responsibilities) :

  • Makes content edits both proactively and upon departmental request
  • Manages website including conducting regular content audits and optimization focused on improving usability, accessibility, and visual appeal to increase conversion

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary :

  • Experience with online email platforms (ex. MailChimp, Constant Contact, WordFly)
  • Experience with web CMS (ex. WordPress, Drupal)
  • Experience with digital analytics & reporting (including Google Analytics)
  • Familiarity with CRM databases
  • Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS
  • Knowledge of current trends in accessibility, SEO, and CX standards
  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative to analyze existing processes and make recommendations for improvements, while also able to collaborate with a team on organizational priorities and campaigns

Education & Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, email communications, website management, or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in email marketing, including targeting and segmentation

Note & Special Requirements :

  • Interest in history and / or knowledge of Virginia history & culture preferred
  • Official title : Digital Marketing Associate
  • Work schedule : In-person, 16-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday
