Position summary:

Reuben's Brews is looking for an experienced Chef / Kitchen Manager with an unrelenting passion for providing a fantastic guest experience. The ideal candidate for this role will support the entire back of house staff with thoughtful leadership, management, processes, and structure. We’re looking for someone who can effectively lead a team, can develop and implement processes to keep things running smoothly, and has a passion for handcrafted food (and beer). We currently have multiple locations, with more locations expected, so the ideal candidate will have a drive to streamline process, ability to ensure consistent quality between locations, and a hunger for more opportunities. 

About us:

Reuben's Brews is a family brewery that opened in 2012. We brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. We know making the extra effort is worth it. We are the most decorated brewery in Washington, have two brewhouses, two tasting rooms, and two private event spaces, and we distribute our beer predominantly in the Pacific Northwest. In 2023 we brewed 27,000 BBLs, and we launched our own food program called Reuben's Eats. We are here to delight our guests through fantastic experiences in our taprooms with exceptional beer, food, and events. 

The role:

This role is responsible for the following:

  • Leadership, Management, and Accountability for the entire back of house team
  • Responsible for the holistic Eats customer experience 
  • SOP ownership (continually ensure accuracy and compliance) 
  • Lead food-related special projects and catering opportunities 
  • Inventory, ordering, and logistics
  • Strong cost control - optimize food cost and labor percentages
  • Continually improve and ensure a safe and clean working environment, including maintenance of kitchen equipment and ensuring SKCPH compliance 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a commercial kitchen, with at least 3 years in a management role 
  • Preferred experience with Square and Craftable systems 
  • Preferred experience in catering 
  • Preferred mult-location experience 
  • Physical demands of the role include but are not limited to: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; Often lift or move full 50 pound boxes of food ingredients.
