Recreation Program Leader and Driver
Program Lead for CCVP Summer Pop-Up Parks:
Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s Community Connections and Violence Prevention Department is looking for qualified staff for the upcoming summer season.
Position Summary:
Role may include but is not limited to leading/assisting/planning activities and programs for youth, providing safe recreation spaces for young people in the parks. This is a hand on engaging position working and leading, directing and interacting with youth and families doing recreational activities. This person will organize a trailer full of equipment and supplies and drive to each park site in a MPRB truck with a trailer attached.
Compensation: $18.56 /hour
This position is eligible for sick and safe leave in accordance with the Minneapolis Sick and Safe Time Ordinance.
This position is not eligible for other benefits.
Hours:
25-30/week – 5 days/week. Times vary based on program but will mostly be afternoons and evenings and will include weekends.
Job Duties:
· Lead structured and non‐structured recreation, arts, and sports activities/programs.
· Drive Pop Up Parks trailer safely and responsibly to and from events each shift.
· Maintain organized mobile trailer full of games and activities
· Create a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for children and clients at Minneapolis Park and Recreation centers.
· Ensure the environment and recreation-based curriculum provides learning experiences to meet each customer needs.
