The Human Resource Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties and working closely with Senior HR management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, employee law compliance, and the employee experience. They will work to help employees and management understand each other and improve performance. They will also perform a variety of duties that help the larger HR team attain its goals and objectives through the implementation of services, policies, programs, and events, that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture emphasizing Greenphire’s values, promoting employee health and well-being.Responsibilities
  • Act as the initial contact for employee questions and requests providing appropriate guidance
  • Serves as the primary resource for management and employees to aid in evaluating and resolving human relations and work-related problems
  • Counsel employees regarding work, family, or personal problems
  • Facilitates meetings with management and employees to determine appropriate action, including performance improvement plans and EAP referrals
  • Conducts workplace investigations and recommends effective solutions that promote positive employee relations
  • Creates corrective action in accordance with policy and applicable laws, advising on performance management
  • Provides support/guidance to manager and employees regarding HR policies and practices
  • Counsel, guide, and educate managers for optimal performance and resolution of complex employee relations and performance management/discipline matters
  • Provide coaching to leaders on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application, talent management, employee development, and performance management
  • Proactively identify and address employee concerns in a timely manner
  • Coordinating and maintaining of post offer/onboarding steps such as: ordering background checks, completing offer letter and assisting with documentation, and sending out and collecting new hire paperwork
  • Create and maintain Human Resource forms and employee electronic files, including I-9 documentation, proof of citizenship and immigration
  • Maintenance of the ADP system, including initial data entry for new hires, maintain updates and changes to employee information, promotions, title, salary changes and reporting structure
  • Fosters employee engagement to create a positive employee experience
  • Contributes to social media presence pertaining to wellness and culture
  • Cultivates a culture tied to our core values, including promoting health and wellness initiatives to drive awareness for employees to maintain a healthy lifestyle which improves company utilization of health benefits
  • Maintains our knowledge management system as an author for the HR Department
  • Provide non-routine HR Policy consultation, guidance and interpretation for employees, and managers
  • Assist with internal or external compliance audits
  • Be a brand and employee advocate who enables change and innovation to create best-in-class teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is preferred
  • 5 years of experience in employee relations, HR generalist, management, or related field preferred
  • HR certification is preferred
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and diplomacy and remain neutral in difficult employee relations issues
  • Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information on a daily basis and maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with performance management and continuous improvement systems and principles
  • Proven ability to establish trust and good working relationships with management and workforce
  • Experience with employee relations and demonstrated ability to drive employee engagement
  • Has a passion for working with diverse groups of people and a knack for problem-solving
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • Committed to excellence and impeccable ethical standards and integrity
  • Strong interpersonal approach to support employees
  • Strong relationship management orientation: high energy level
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and strong Excel skills
