We are looking for a Receptionist/Communication Assistant to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. To be successful as a Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role may require working in shifts, so flexibility is a plus. Editing materials will be an important part of your job as well. In this role, you should be an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail. If you have administrative and social media marketing experience, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, your goal will be to help ensure clear communication across all channels.
Responsibilities
· Help implement communications strategies
· Draft and edit communications copy (e.g. publications and social media posts)
· Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies
· Update databases
· Facilitate effective internal communications
· Maintain calendars and appointments, schedule meetings
· Prepare Flyers, presentations and reports
· Greet and welcome parents and parishioners
· Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
· Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing
· Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
· Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
