Senior Sales Manager 
Salary Range: $75,000 - $78,000 annually, commensurate with experience
We are seeking a candidate with creativity and high energy who comes with passion for uncovering new business, rethinking old strategies, creating new strategies, and connecting interpersonally with clients both inside and outside of the organization. The ideal candidate has proven results in achieving revenue goals while also providing exceptional service with clients, vendors, and other team members.
The candidate will need self-management and analytical skills, along with the ability to maintain their composure under pressure. The Founders Inn and Spa, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, wants someone with passion for selling, establishing benchmarks for success, and working interdepartmentally to exceed the client’s expectations.
This position involves all aspects of the sales process: prospecting, preparation, presentation, listening, negotiation, handling objections, follow-up and closing. You will be part of a seasoned team that will support you and work with you to ensure your groups will continue to return.

SUMMARY
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for:
  • Manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals (room night, average rate, room rental) are achieved or exceeded.
  • Develop market segment (s) and solicitation of new customer relationships and accounts while maintaining existing relationships with current accounts while consistently striving to maximize revenue.
  • This position is accountable for booking individual and / or group business on an established base of the top producing key accounts and for managing / converting high potential key prospects.
  • A senior sales manager is also a learner who constantly seeks to enhance their own sales skills and competencies. This involves staying updated on the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in the sales field, as well as seeking feedback, mentoring, or training from others. A senior sales manager also must demonstrate leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as a customer-centric and results-oriented mindset.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Sales Manager’s primary responsibilities will include:
  • Move throughout property to conduct site inspections, reporting any repairs or areas requiring maintenance to the appropriate department.
  • Directing and developing sales and catering team.
  • Tour existing, former, and potential clients, providing information about the property and by utilizing an effective and positive sales technique.
  • Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
  • Travel and engage in sales activities outside of the hotel to meet with and entertain customers and prospective customers, participate in tradeshows, industry, and community events to promote hotel, maintain contacts and close the deal.
  • Provides after-sales service and ensures all guests’ complaints are taken seriously and discussed with the respective departments if necessary.
  • Meet, greet, and entertain potential clients, providing information regarding the property to increase sales.
  • Attending trade shows and other community events as necessary to represent property and acquire new business leads.
  • Supervise the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings, working closely with other departments to ensure that the guest specifications are met, and their satisfaction is achieved.
  • Write proposal and / or contract to advise prospective groups for meeting space and / or banquet date, space, and rate availability for group accommodations for moderately complex meetings.
  • Develop new account, maintain the existing client, reactive the sleeping account.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other departments, employees, and guests.
  • Complete all related training required, both online and offline / in class.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITY
  • Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
  • Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare cost proposals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
  • Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain information and respond to clients. 
  • Ability to anticipate and analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.
  • Delphi.fdc and Hilton experience are a bonus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education – Four-year degree or comparable experience.
  • Experience – Five or more years of proven experience in a related field preferred.
