Escalade Sports is Hiring an Internal Auditor Near Evansville, IN
Reporting to: Audit Committee and VP of Financial Reporting
Location: Evansville, IN
Status: Exempt
Job Purpose: The Internal Auditor works closely with the Audit Committee, CFO, VP of Financial Reporting, and accounting personnel with the responsibility of maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. The individual will be responsible for planning and execution of internal control testing to maintain compliance with accounting standards.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Evaluate the overall efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls and risk areas in compliance with standards.
- Work closely with external consultants.
- Improve controls and processes to more align with company policies and required compliance with standards.
- Prepare and execute scheduled audits including planning, preparation, execution, reporting and follow-up.
- Build relationships with Escalade team members to improve controls and processes.
- Assist with month-end account reconciliations.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
- 7 years of related work experience, SEC experience preferred.
- Strong written communication skills required.
- Sitting, talking, and listening at least 2/3 of the time
- Lifting up to 10 pounds
- Office environment
- Occasional travel required
