Reporting To: Finance Manager
Location: Evansville, In
Status: Exempt
Job Purpose: The credit manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, cash application of customer payments, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Administers company credit application process – review credit applications, establish lines of credit and make recommendations to VP of Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Communicates with customers regarding lines of credit and past due accounts
- Establishes new accounts – review references and determine lines of credits
- Approves and releases orders within established guidelines.
- Reviews collections reports and monitor collector’s follow-up on past due accounts.
- Supervises staff in areas of credit/collections, order entry, cash posting, invoicing and accounts receivable.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 years of related experience
- Strong customer orientation and problem resolution skills
- Attention to detail, organized, ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Sitting, talking and listening at least 2/3 of the time
- Lifting up to 10 pounds
- Office environment
- Occasional domestic travel may be required
