Reports To: Director of Clubhouse Service, Clubhouse Manager

Echo Lake Country Club, a premier private country club, is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Food & Beverage Manager. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can inspire and cultivate a positive work environment. As a creative and proven service leader, you will push the envelope in food and beverage operations by understanding and implementing current industry trends. We seek a hands on leader, passionate about beverage operations, including inventory management, wine education, craft cocktail programs, and local breweries. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of high service standards. An engaging sense of humor, innovative staff training, and effective event planning will set you apart.

Candidate Qualifications:

Education: Must Posses a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or applicable work experience. Ability to read, write, speak, follow, and give written and/or oral directions in English. Other languages are a plus.

Training and Experience: 4 years Food and Beverage experience in fine dining restaurant, private country club environment or resort is required. Must feel comfortable managing multiple restaurant and bar outlets. Experience in Banquets and Bar management is a plus.

Job Knowledge: Working knowledge of dining room, food, and bar service, including the safe use of appropriate equipment. Proficient in member and guest relations, vendor relations, systems, employee relations, budgets, and costs.

Job Summary:

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for managing the front-of-house team and service staff of our various dining outlets. The role involves maximizing sales and profits while maintaining exceptional member relations. A strong passion for beverage operations, including wine, spirits, and beer, is essential. Success will be driven by fostering training and incentive programs.

Physical Abilities:

  • Must be able to work on feet, moving quickly for several hours.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and carry 35 pounds, including cases of wine, liquor, beer, and other necessary equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all food and beverage service outlets and staff training.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including all meal periods, early morning, late night, weekends, and holidays. Open availability is a must.
  • Lead and develop the Front of House team, including hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Develop beverage programming, including stock supplies, inventory control, and menu development.
  • Maintain a hands-on presence on the dining room floor with service staff and supervisors.
  • Conduct training classes on guest recognition initiatives, industry trends, wine/spirits/beer education, and hospitality touchpoints.
  • Review group function/wedding sheets and the membership calendar daily to ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Establish and promote high standards of appearance, cleanliness, graciousness, and service.
  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards.
  • Perform and follow up on other duties as assigned by Clubhouse Leadership.
  • Consistently conduct staff performance appraisals.
  • Manage monthly inventories of outlets, liquor, beer, and glassware.
  • Oversee daily staff scheduling to reduce labor costs.
  • Ensure dining room, common area and bar cleaning procedures are followed daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with Food & Beverage supervisors.
  • Perform weekly payroll for all front-of-house staff members.
  • Conduct weekly beverage orders to ensure proper par levels.
  • Complete monthly beverage transfers to all outlets.
  • Consistently coach and counsel all front-of-house staff members and perform disciplinary actions when necessary.
