Job Description
Job Summary
Supervise Senior Companions Project Staff. Create and manage budget. Develop and maintain all financial, project and volunteer records. Complete all required federal and local reports. Conduct public awareness activities. Conduct training of volunteers, volunteer stations, and advisory council. Recruit volunteers and volunteer stations, supervise volunteers, and monitor volunteer stations for compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
SUPERVISION
1. Recruit, select, train and place Senior Companions in assignments with Volunteer Stations.
2. Initiate national service criminal history checks on all Senior Companions applicants prior to orientation and ensure that all applicants have cleared all parts of the national service criminal history checks prior to placement.
3. Provide coordinated pre-service orientation, in-service training and overall Senior Companions supervision in coordination with volunteer stations.
4. Provide advice and information to Senior Companions.
5. Evaluate Senior Companions' performance
6. Interpret JCC policies and philosophy to Senior Companions, volunteer stations, and advisory council.
7. Conduct periodic visits to Volunteer Stations and in-home sites to monitor Senior Companions' satisfaction and performance and to monitor volunteer station compliance with program requirements.
8. Supervise Senior Companions Administrate Assistant.
MANAGEMENT
1. Develop memoranda of understanding and, where applicable, letters of agreement between project and volunteer stations, and periodically review and update per federal regulations.
2. Develop and maintain project financial, volunteer, and volunteer station records.
3. Complete annual eligibility assessments for Senior Companion volunteers.
4. Develop and submit all required federal and state grant applications.
5. Develop and monitor annual federal, state, and non-government budgets.
6. Prepare and submit on a regular basis accurate budget projections to Chief Financial Officer.
7. Prepare and submit all periodic reports required by federal and state agencies and other funding and/or oversight entities.
8. Regularly monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local program regulations.
9. Serve as program point of contact for annual fiscal audits and maintain and provide all such documentation of revenues and expenditures as may be required by auditors.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
1. Develop and implement with staff and advisory council members annual recognition activities for Senior Companions.
2. Develop and implement with staff and advisory council members a continuous program of public awareness.
3. Develop grants and outside funding for project, including cash and in-kind support.
4. Conduct on-going outreach to develop volunteer station partnerships with appropriate community organizations.
ADMINISTRATIVE
1. Attend agency training programs, program staff meetings and department meetings.
2. Attend training programs sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
3. Attend training programs and meetings of the Texas Senior Corps Association and National Senior Corps Association.
4. Publicize Senior Companions in the community.
5. Attend networking meetings with other community agencies.
6. Serve on advisory councils for various senior and/or non-profit organizations to help promote Senior Companions in project service area.
Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree or four to six years' experience working with government-regulated programs, budgets and grants
2. 3-5 years' experience in government grant management
3. Strong fiscal management and accounting skills
4. Strong supervisory skills
5. Strong public speaking skills
6. Ability to work a variable schedule
7. Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
8. Ability to multi-task
9. Ability to delegate
10. Ability to perform community outreach
11. Valid driver's license and liability insurance
12. Ability to successfully pass National Service Criminal History Check process
