Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager

Reports To: Branch Manager

Salary Grade: NE60 (Non-Exempt)

Effective Date: June 2024

Position Summary: As an assistant branch manager, you oversee all aspects of day-today branch operations, focusing on team member engagement, growth, and development. You share the organization’s mission and bring it to life within the branch and team. Through effective communication, you will empower your team to deliver exceptional service and enhance member satisfaction, reinforcing our reputation as a reliable community resource.

Role-Specific Contributions:

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   1. Grow Membership and Deepen Relationships
  • Take a consultative approach with each member to deliver solutions to meet their specific financial goals and coach team members to do the same
  • Engage in active listening during interactions with members, fully focusing on their needs and concerns, and providing thoughtful, accurate responses to ensure their satisfaction
  • Leverage digital tools to enhance member engagement, ensuring seamless access to online and mobile platforms, personalizing the experience
  • Support and participate in business development activities such as bank at work, lunch and learn and financial literacy events
  1. Foster and Environment of Continuous Growth and Development
  • Implement a variety of coaching sessions wit team members where they can provide input on their development needs and receive actionable guidance on how to achieve their career goals
  • Promote a culture on innovation and creativity by empowering team members to propose new ideas, and solutions that add value to the credit union and its members
  • Encourage participation in job shadow program and other learning opportunities at the credit union
  1. Community Engagement
  • Represent the credit union at civic organizations, networking groups, and community events to promote positive engagement
  • Seek out community outreach initiatives, sponsorships, and events to increase branch visibility and support community development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local leaders to foster partnerships and enhance the credit unions impact on the community

Managerial Responsibilities:

In your role, you play a crucial part in cultivating a culture of leadership excellence and development within your branch, upholding the credit union’s mission along with adherence to policies and regulatory requirements. Your key responsibilities include fostering a supportive environment through hiring, training and ongoing coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and providing recognition. Additionally, you actively engage in resolving issues and fostering open communication channels to address team member concerns and promote continuous improvement within the credit union.

Education and/or Experience:

While this level of expertise will generally be attained with a minimum of two years in a previous leadership role and an associate’s degree, priority will be placed upon the demonstration of the ability to meet qualifications without an absolute focus on duration of experience, in recognition that the attainment of such qualifications may be obtained at different paces by different individuals.
