Elite sportswear is Hiring a Technical Designer Near Reading, PA

Description

Job Summary: 

Technical designers are the liaisons between the design and production teams. They take the sketched design concept and figure out how to make it into a physical product. The manufacturing process can only go smoothly if the technical designer has provided a detailed and clear tech pack.

Education and Experience:

· Degree in apparel or fashion design preferred.

· Relevant technical design experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Create development tech packs for designs provided by the Design department.
  • Review proto submits from overseas vendors. 
  • Measure and review construction.
  • Schedule fittings and provide feedback on fit and any necessary pattern corrections required to achieve desired fit. 
  • Update tech packs with comments and changes from review & fittings. Provide vendors with updated tech packs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of garment construction
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong Illustrator skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting
  • Occasional standing and walking.
  • Occasional movement through various departments.
  • Manual dexterity of fingers and hands.

Work Environment:

  • General office environment with standard office equipment.
  • Exposure to varying office temperatures and distractions.
