Title: Development Associate

At JUWI, we're taking solar energy to the next level. With the goal to bring solar power online over the next several years, we seek a Development Associate to bring our vision to life.
As a Development Associate, you'll have the opportunity to apply your business knowledge, analytical capabilities, and GIS proficiency to develop solar (PV) and solar storage projects. The Development Associate will touch all aspects of project development, with a focus on the early-stage siting and request for proposal (RFP) response process. The role presents an opportunity to participate in site design, land acquisition, interconnection, and permitting with a fast-paced team where a can-do attitude and innovative thrives.
In this role, you'll:

• Manage all geographic data for planning and execution of company projects, including:
  • Serving as the company's GIS liaison
  • Collaborating with the Development Team to identify, maintain, and organize a database of potential project sites
  • Ensuring the company remains compliant with GIS industry standards
  • Increasing team output by training and educating staff to use GIS tools
  • Supporting requests for maps and geographic data throughout a project's lifecycle
• Contribute to the Development Team's Request-For-Proposal (RFPs) response efforts, including:
  • Reviewing utility and corporate RFPs and extracting then clearly communicating opportunity details (schedule, key deliverables, etc.) to the larger Development team
  • Organizing and engaging the appropriate team members on the Development, Engineering, Finance, and Management teams to collect the deliverables and content needed to assemble a cohesive and attractive proposal
  • Drafting, assembling, and submitting final proposals
• Conduct market research to inform future development opportunities
• Learn about, and participate in, broader Development Team initiatives including site design, cost estimating, grid integration, and land acquisition.
• Support the Development Team with idea generation, analysis and advice on origination and execution of new projects.
• Work toward GISP certification

Qualifications:

• Passion about renewable energy projects
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Geography, Environmental Studies, Planning, or Engineering,
• 0 - 2 years of professional experience.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS/QGIS, Google Earth, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated efficiency in managing multi-disciplinary tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work autonomously and to take initiative and organize work in an independent manner
• A roll-up-your sleeves team player
• Willingness to work flexible and long hours
• Desire to grow professionally

Annual Base Salary Range:
$65,000 - $75,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on certain company and individual performance metrics.
