Job Summary The School Leader is the instructional leader for the school and is responsible for working with all service areas to ensure compliance with related Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), NAEYC Accreditation criteria, DHS and OECP guidelines, and local, federal, and state laws. The School Leader is responsible for the implementation of all agency policies, procedures, and plans that pertain to children currently enrolled in the program. Supervisor responsibilities include Assistant School Leaders, Instructional Coaches, School Support Associates, Classroom Staff, and Educational Support Associates (ESS)as well as any ancillary staff assigned to their school (Temporaries, AARP Volunteers, Volunteers). Applies professional/managerial principles and judgment, within the overall direction established by senior management. Solves complex technical or strategic problems; applies technology or business approaches in new ways; develops and recommends new alternatives. Regular interaction to communicate or negotiate important agreements, requires considerable tact, a sense of timing, and the ability to engender trust, plus sensitivity to diverse audiences. Work location In-person work and collaboration are requirements for this position. Employees are expected to physically report to assigned work site as scheduled by supervisor. At the agency's discretion, this position may be allowed to engage in remote work for specified periods or a determined percentage of the work schedule; however, this is not guaranteed. Temporary remote workdays may be approved for circumstances such as, but not limited to, inclement weather, special projects, or travel. These arrangements are approved on an as-needed basis, with no expectation of ongoing continuance. All remote work arrangements are made on a case-by-case basis, focusing first on the organization's business needs. Essential Physical & Mental Requirements Primarily an office position. Work requires intermittent bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the day. Must have the ability to lift and/or carry objects and children weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and quickly respond to children's needs. Must be willing to work in a noisy and stressful environment. Regular and reliable attendance required must be flexible with hours in order to cover site-operating hours. Requires moderate attention to detail and deadlines 15%-45% of the time. | ||
