CityTeam Portland is expanding, and we are looking for a Learning Center Coordinator to oversee our Learning and Career Center. The Learning Center Coordinator will wear many hats, including teacher, facilitator, mentor, guidance counselor, and case manager. The Learning Center Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing Learning Center plans and procedures, conducting assessments, instructing clients, and assisting with other essential functions of the Residential and Transitional Housing Programs. No two days are ever the same, so we are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and handle conflict with grace in a Christ-like manner. Our ideal candidate will have a servant’s heart and have the expertise to ensure our Learning Center is best in class. 

The Learning Center Coordinator is a part - time position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Hold students accountable for appropriate behavior and model Christ-like behavior.

2. Assist with the intake process, including screenings and assessments, setting up files, orienting new clients, and making referrals.

3. Interview and assess clients to create Individualized Learning Plans. 

4. Provide instruction and materials best suited to meet each client’s needs based on his Individualized Learning Plan.

5. Prepare clients to take the high school equivalency exam, if applicable. 

6. Be informed and able to advise clients about their academics, as they relate to their employment goals.

7. Use appropriate teaching styles and methods to accommodate working with individuals and small or large groups. 

8. Maintain materials as needed for class use.

9. Maintain all related client files and paperwork.

10. Schedule, train, coach, and supervise any Learning Center volunteers.

11. Recruit and cultivate relationships with local businesses to generate employment and internship opportunities for clients. 

12. Assist each client with exit plan details and documents related to employment, housing, budgeting, etc.

13. Assist Recovery Program Manager with the formalization of the case management system used with clients in the recovery program.

14. Provide leadership and administrative oversight to the weekly Working Man’s Meeting.

15. Serve as the staff person responsible for accountability related to DBS forms and participation.

16. Serve as a case manager for up to 5 clients.

17. Oversee client UA’s.

18. Oversee client room checks.

19. In coordination with Recovery Manager, track and maintain accurate records regarding client roster, chores, & room assignments. 

20. Occasionally fill in or facilitate classes, as needed.

21. Attend all pertinent meetings, including but not limited to weekly staff and case manager meetings.

22. Advocate on behalf of CityTeam to your circles of influence. 

23. Assist with other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

 Required Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or GED

· Experience facilitating meetings, groups, or other functions

· Computer literate and proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PP, & Outlook) and Google Apps

· Outstanding command of the English language, especially writing professional documents and business correspondence

· Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work and partner with people from varied backgrounds 

Preferred Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field

· Teaching or Career Counseling experience

· Experience conducting online research, preparing presentations, and speaking in public

· Administrative experience or work in the customer service field

Physical Demands

· Stand or sit for prolonged amounts of time

· Walk, bend, twist, & kneel

· Climb up and down stairs

· Talk and hear

· Occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds

· Finger and hand dexterity to feel, handle, and operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms

· Should be able to type accurately with a minimum 30 correct words per minute

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Conditions

· This job operates in a classroom and office environment

· This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

· Days and hours of work are flexible, typical business hours during the weekdays, with occasional evenings and weekends 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications for CityTeam Ministries

· Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ 

· Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers

· Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith

· Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ
